SCRUB AND HABITAT MANAGEMENT
Mulching and Scrub Management
Scrub management within the forest or on wider more open areas we carry out with a tractor and mulcher reducing bramble, gorse, thorn and any other species required leaving a layer of organic material. Mulching is also a good way of breaking down the small branch wood of trees that have been harvested for there timber within the forest adding to the organic material on the forest floor for the next generation of trees and flora. We also use a tree shear mounted on a nine tone excavator to manage scrub and overgrown forest rides which enables us to stack the material for extraction if the site needs to be cleared from arisings.
